The 12-year drought ends in May 2024, with the introduction of the 3,000-passenger Queen Anne. Sustainability is a key part of the Explora Journeys brand and, as such, future planned Explora ships will be LNG-powered, and even later ships will be hydrogen-powered.

The area will also have a ropes course and Coastal Climb, an obstacle-course-meets-ladder adventure spanning two decks. The hype for Royal Caribbean's newest ship, Icon of the Seas, has been building for a long time with record-breaking sales -- and in January 2024, the latest class from the line will debut. The 7,600-passenger vessel promises to be a showstopper, especially the new glass-covered AquaDome. This 82-feet-by-164-feet space will feature 600 panes of glass and contain a signature AquaTheater, as well as restaurants and Royal's first food hall, the AquaDome Market. Other new features include a new Asian and sushi restaurant, and a new smoke-free casino with an attached dance club. A previous feature on the cruise line’s ships, the Champagner Treff Champagne bar, gets a new look for better views.

The latest ship for the luxury line Silversea Cruises will be bigger than its predecessors and feature an all-new design — one that, notably, will be asymmetrical in many areas. That is, some of the vessel's most prominent spaces, including its main pool area, will feature layouts that are off-center in a way that is unusual for cruise ships. Holding just 298 passengers, Evrima will be a small, yacht-like vessel with an elegant, residential look (as you might expect for Ritz-Carlton). For its inaugural season, Utopia of the Seas will embark on short cruises to the Bahamas, departing from convenient Port Canaveral.

The fourth Edge-class ship will repeat the size and arrangement of the slightly larger and latest Celebrity Beyond, with its own Magic Carpet and all. Like Disney Wish, Disney Treasure is part of Disney's new Triton Class of vessels, and it'll share many of the same features and layout as its older sister. Disney has announced quite a few major changes for Disney Treasure, including the addition of an all-new Mexican restaurant called Plaza de Coco that is themed around the events of the "Coco" movie. Explora Journeys is competing in the same upscale cruise space as Seabourn and Crystal, as well as luxury lines like Viking, Silversea and The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection.
After the wildly successful launch of Icon of the Seas in 2024, the second ship in Royal Caribbean's Icon Class, Star of the Seas will no doubt be just as highly anticipated. Currently being built for $1.1 billion, the ship will be powered by LNG and use fuel cell technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The biggest accommodation on board, the Regent Suite, will measure an astounding 4,443 square feet — nearly twice the square footage of the average American home. Resilient Lady will initially sail in the Mediterranean before repositioning to Australia for the winter (where it'll mostly cater to the Australian market).
There will also be fifteen different restaurants for guests to choose from, including a revamped Golden Lion Pub, a brand-new Japanese specialty restaurant with sushi and omakase tasting menus, and more. She'll also be the first new ship in their fleet to grace the seas since Queen Elizabeth launched in 2010. The ship's theme is adventure, and this will be evident throughout the public venues. The Grand Hall, for instance, will feature statues and decor that are reminiscent of Agrabah from the Disney classic tale Aladdin. The first ship in Princess Cruises' Sphere Class will be launching in February 2024.

Disney Treasure’s theme-ing ties in nicely with its name — it’s all about adventuring and searching out that hidden treasure. As such, you may find that characters are dressed a little more adventure-appropriate for this cruise (with Captain Minnie Mouse, for example, donning a jungle-exploring-appropriate look). As Disney’s latest and greatest cruise ship, and the sixth in the fleet, Disney Treasure provides all the magic that the cruise line is known for. There’s also the Park19 adventure park that features the first-at-sea roll glider, a ropes course, tilt wall and more adventurous fun to keep the adrenaline pumping. Many of the ship’s offerings are geared toward families, but adults-only spaces are also plentiful. While slightly bigger than earlier Viking ocean ships, Viking Vela's interior will have an almost identical look. Like Viking's 10 earlier ocean vessels, Vela will boast modern, Scandinavian-influenced decor that's soothing and upscale. Onboard activities will revolve around enrichment programs and classy entertainment, and there will be elegant meals in multiple restaurants. Cabins will be relatively spacious, with the smallest of five cabin categories having 270 square feet of space. In design and features, Utopia of the Seas will be nearly identical to Royal Caribbean's last new Oasis Class ship, Wonder of the Seas, which debuted in 2022. Like that vessel, it'll have a dedicated suite area with a private lounge, restaurant and sun deck — something not found on the four earlier Oasis Class ships.
It's run completely separately from its sister brand, MSC Cruises, which caters to a mass-market audience. Designed for 922 passengers, the high-end vessel will be an almost identical sister to Explora 1, the line's first ship, which debuted in August. Among other standout venues, Sun Princess will feature a secret hideaway for magical performances designed in partnership with the Magic Castle performance venue in Los Angeles.
